No Day At All

At this point in the season in Division 1 Baseball, Montpellier in the southern league was tied with Savigny-sur-Orge in the north with 13 wins and one loss for the season. Saint-Lo (north) and Toulouse (south) trailed with 10 wins and 2 losses, Paris University Club (north) with 8 wins and 4 losses. The last day of May, I was scheduled with Michel for a Northern match between Vauréal and Olivet northwest of Paris near Cergy.

I drove out for an hour early Sunday morning to meet Michel at a shopping center near his home. We drove on for another half-hour to find the ballpark overlooking the Oise, but no teams were evident. We called in on Michel's portable phone to learn that the game had been postponed. Only the umpires were uninformed.
